Creamy golden milk made by cooking milk with turmeric, is a delicious and traditional home remedy to soothe cold or sore throat among many other health benefits.

Ingredients
  • 2 cup fresh milk
  • 2 cup fresh milk
  • 1 inch piece of fresh turmeric, grated or 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 inch piece of fresh turmeric, grated or 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 5-6 whole black peppercorn
  • 5-6 whole black peppercorn
  • 2-3 green cardamoms, crushed
  • 2-3 green cardamoms, crushed
  • 2 tsp honey or to taste
Instructions
  1. In a heavy bottomed saucepan, heat milk over medium high heat. Add turmeric, black peppercorns and green cardamoms. Mix well and bring it to boil stirring frequently to prevent it from burning at the bottom of the saucepan.
  2. Reduce the heat to medium low and let the milk simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat. Cover the saucepan with lid and let the milk rest for 10 minutes for the flavors to blend.
  4. Strain through mesh sieve. Add honey and serve warm.
Notes
Add honey after milk has cooled down to warm.
